William Newton "Billy" Caldwell, 67, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at U.K. Medical Center.

He was born in Woodford County to Aileen Young Caldwell, of Lawrenceburg, and the late James S. "Wop" Caldwell. He was a member and trustee at Freedom Baptist Church; 1966 graduate of Western High School; retired as a group leader from Square D in Lexington, and a school bus monitor for the Anderson County Board Education.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lily F. Caldwell, Lawrenceburg; Jimmy (Michaela) Rogers, Frankfort, Mark (Jennifer) Caldwell, Lawrenceburg; four brothers, Dickie (Regina) Caldwell, Ronald "Bodie" (Tammy) Caldwell, Shawn (Candy) Caldwell, Dude (Donna) Caldwell; four sisters, Kitty (Jim) McAlister, Beverly (Bobby) Wooldridge; Barbara Hall, and Glenda Caldwell, all of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Randi, Mandi, Corey, and Owen Rogers, Aaron Caldwell; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by two sisters, Angela Carr and Wanda Sue Caldwell.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Steve Wells and Bro. Chris Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Casketbearers will be Darrell Young, Wayne Fint, Josh Satterly, Tyler Hill, Jeff Fint, and Marty Bertram. Honorary bearers will be his nephews, Jody Caldwell, Brad Caldwell, Jason Caldwell, Phillip Caldwell, Connie Cunningham, Bobby Cunningham, and Ronald Hall.
