Virginia Alice (Franklin) Brown

Virginia Alice Franklin Brown, age 97, widow of Ernest Brown, of Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.

She was born in Anderson County to the late Zachary W. and Samantha Johnson Franklin. She was a member of Glensboro Christian; retired from Wild Turkey Trace Distillery; and a former employee of Hoffman Distillery.

Virginia was survived one son, Ben F. (Sara) Brown, Nicholasville; 4 grandchildren, Phillip K. (Elizabeth) Brown, Louisville, Sara L. (Christopher) Love, Nicholasville, Gregory P. (Penny) Smith, TN, Conway Smith, Lawrenceburg; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Emily Smith; 3 sisters, Bonnie Carlton, Mary Morgan, Ruby Perry; and 3 brothers, Ollie, Bruce, and Ibra Franklin.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Dale Parrish and Bro. Truman McClain officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Brown, Gregory Smith, Conway Smith, Christopher Love, John Allen Perry, and Scottie Warford. Honorary bearers will be Alex and Anthony Smith and Phillip Hutchinson.
