Roger Rose

Roger Rose, age 78, husband for 58 years to Ruth Ann Kelley Rose, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at U.K. Healthcare in Lexington.

Roger was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Coy and Bonnie Cassidy Rose.  He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday School teacher, R.A. leader, Pairs and Spares Sunday School member, and also helped with Awana, tv crew, food services, and was a CLC attendant.  He also served as the commissioner for the Anderson County Church Basketball League.  Roger formerly worked in signal maintenance for Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Along with his wife he is survived by one son, Danny Joe (Cynthia) Rose; three grandchildren, Jessica Rose, Brent and Brandon Ball, all of Lawrenceburg; and sister, Joyce Keith, of Winter Park, Florida .

He was proceeded in death by a son, Larry Rose.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in McCreary County.  Visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church.

Pall bearers will be Brent Ball, Brandon Ball, Dennis Couch, Jesse Currens, Robert Hendricks, and Michael Ray.  Honorary bearers will be Cindy Couch, Faye Murphy, and Amy Downing.
