Robert Lawrence Bean, Sr.

Robert Lawrence Bean, Sr., 69, husband for 47 years to Loretta Darlene Smith Bean, of Lexington, died Friday, November 6, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Bean was born in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky to the late Robert Leslie and Mary Francis Marshall Bean.  He was a member of Second Christian Church; former horse groomsmen for Oak Hill Farm in Harrodsburg; and enjoyed being an artist during his past time.

Along with his wife he is survived by his son, Robert Bean, Jr., Harrodsburg; four daughters, Yolanda Lilly, Ohio, Lucianna (Shawn) Perkins, Mary (Doug) Mullins, and Angela (Edret) Bean, all of Lexington; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Bean, Frankfort, and Nathaniel Lee Bean, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Janis Elizabeth Bean McKee, Starla Harvey, and Lisa Bean, all of Lawrenceburg; a very special sister-in-law, Sandra Van Dyke; and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Carter and Kelly Bean.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Short officiating.  Visitation 11-1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
