Norva Lee Darnell

Norva Lee Darnell, 86, passed away May 12, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born in Anderson County he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Cora Elizabeth Ward Darnell. Mr. Darnell was a U.S. Army (Korean War) Veteran; retired from General Electric; member of Fairview Christian Church; attended Tates Christian Church; member of a Masonic Lodge in Mt. Washington, KY.

He is survived by two daughters, Cora Beth (Maurice) Poirier, of Canada and Brenda (Larry) Critchfield, of Lexington; daughter like, Startlett (Walter) Harrod, Oxford, OH; grandchildren, Adrena and Donyale Brothers, Philippe (Ashley) Poirier, all of Canada, Amos (Marissa) and Anthony (Ellen) Critchfield, both of Lexington; grandchildren like Opal (Ben) Mack, Utah and Isaac Harrod, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Julie Mikie, Jennifer, Alexia, Jessica, Nicholas, and Alycia, of Canada and Asa, of Lexington; great-great grandchildren, Xavier and Lilly, of Canada; brother-in-law, Boyd Rogers; and special nieces and nephews, Debbie (Robert) Proffitt, Donna Rogers, Doug (Tammy) Rogers.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Tony Lee Darnell; grandson, Maurice Poirier, Jr.; sister, Almira Jane Darnell Rogers; and the mother of his children, Martha Ann Shelton Darnell.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Christian Church with Bro. Grant Mathes officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Gash Memorial Chapel and from noon until the time of the service at the church on Wednesday.
