Mary D. Lacefield, 92, passed away January 1, 2026 at Heritage Hall Rehab & Wellness Center. She was born November 28, 1933 to the late James Tyler "Noon" and Nora Bell Searcy Disponett.
She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the First Baptist Church. After graduating from Western High School, she was a telephone operator at GTE/Verizon. She was also the owner of Smith Grocery, Parkway Market and Anderson Grill.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George "Ed" Edward Lacefield, and her siblings: Bernice B. Disponett, Carrie Mae Durr, Edith Pearl Hawkins, James Peter "JP" Disponett, John Henry Disponett, Susie B. Drury, and Delcie Jane Morgan.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Michael Lacefield and Karen of Lawrenceburg, KY., Troy Allen Lacefield and Anushya, Douglas Lee Lacefield all of Lexington, KY., one brother and sister-in-law: William "Dave" Disponett and Brenda of Lawrenceburg, KY., four grandchildren and six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews plus a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 5, 2026 at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery, with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating.
