Marie Louise Carter Short, 97, widow of Lois Seay "Bud" Short, of Lawrenceburg, died Friday, November 25, 2016 at her residence.

She was born in Anderson County to the late Willis Herford and Bessie Estella Gibson Carter. She was co-owner of Red-Bud Camper Sales; a former employee of Bonds Mill Distillery; member of Sand Spring Baptist Church; and former member of Fox Creek Homemakers Club.

She is survived by sister, Stella Burgin; brother, Kenneth (Ann) Carter; adopted grandson, Lance (Molly) Roe; adopted great-granddaughter, Evelyn "Evie" Ray Roe; and caretaker Debbie Pittman, all of Lawrenceburg.

Mrs. Short is preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Cornish and two brothers, Gareld and James Carter.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
