Margaret Bell Thompson Briscoe, age 97, widow of William Samuel Briscoe, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Lawrenceburg.

She was born in Anderson County to the late Michael and Nannie Hawthorne Thompson. She was a member at Sand Spring Baptist Church where she sang with the Swinging Saints, taught the T.E.L. Sunday school class, and was a former choir member. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Department of Parks.

She is survived by three sons, William Thomas (Patsy) Briscoe, Frankfort, Davis Wayne (Mary Jane) Briscoe, Larry Hamilton (Barbara) Briscoe, both of Lawrenceburg; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Briscoe is preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Thompson and John Thompson; sister, Myrtle Lewis; and grandson, Tracy Briscoe.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Billy, Mike, Bobby, Douglas, Brad Briscoe, Steve, and Alison Halvachs. Honorary bearers will be Ron Garvey, Darrell Clark, and Ellery Milburn.
