Lonnie Dale Garrett, Sr.

Lonnie Dale Garrett, Sr., 62, of Georgetown, IN, husband of 39 years to Deborah Louise Jamison Garrett, died Friday, May 21, 2021 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.

He was born in Louisville, KY to the late Marvin Stanley and Mary Margaret Parrish Garrett. He worked in the construction business for many years and enjoyed fishing with his son in his spare time.

Along with his wife he is survived by three children, Carrie Marie Dorton, Jenny Marie Hooker and Lonnie Dale Garrett, Jr., all of Louisville; brother, Elbert Garrett, Carrolton; sister, Angela (Gary) Garrett, of Louisville; 5 grandchildren, Thomas Michael Dorton, Eric Bradley Brown, Savannah Louise Dorton, Jayda Elizabeth Shawn Hooker and Alivia Dorton; and great-granddaughter, Paisley Rose Dorton.

Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Taylor Brown.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Jordan Sandquist officiating. Burial will follow in Big Spring Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11-7p.m. and Wednesday prior to the service.

Casket bearers will be Thomas Dorton, Eric Brown, Melvin Jamison, Jr., Carl Jamison, Sr., Toby Jamison, Tory Jamison, Elbert Garrett and Gary Garrett. Honorary bearer will be Joey Bennett.
