Lizzie Belle "Betty" Williams Sims, 87, widow of Harold Houchin Sims, of Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Heritage Hall Healthcare Center.

She was born in Anderson County to the late John L. and Estill Littrell Williams. She was a member at Salt River Independent Baptist Church and the Anderson County Historical Society. Betty and her late husband, Harold were instrumental in the revival of the Salt River Independent Baptist Church. Mrs. Sims spent her days as a homemaker and caretaker.

Betty is survived by a step-son, Wayne (Margaret) Sims, of Bardstown; two step grandsons, Stephen Sims, Bardstown and Scott (Rachel) Sims, Louisville; and step great-grandchildren, Ashton, Sawyer and Hadley Sims, all of Louisville.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Strom and two brothers, Paul and Clay Williams.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Lawrenceburg Cemetery with Bro. Carl Bush officiating. Gash Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
