Johnnie Albert Simpson Sr

Johnnie Albert Simpson, Sr., age 71, of Lawrenceburg, died Monday, July 27, 2015 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Spencer County to the late Johnnie Simpson and Anna Mae Cranmer Simpson Nutt. He was a member of Mt. Eden Christian Church and a former delivery driver for Browns Wholesale.

Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ann Elizabeth Buntain Simpson, of Lawrenceburg; four sons, Barry (Sherry) Simpson and Johnnie A. (Pam) Simpson, Jr., both of Lawrenceburg; David Simpson and Johnnie R. (Stephanie) Simpson, both of Louisville; three daughters, Angela (Richard) Pike, Lawrenceburg, Mary (Jeff) Embry and Brenda (Greg) Garner, both of Louisville; daughter-in-law, Beverly G. Simpson, Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Ada Rae Ellis, Louisville, and Sara Pearl Kingsolver, Shelbyville; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Ray Simpson; two brothers, Samuel W. Simpson and Roy Davis Simpson; and step-father, James Ray Nutt.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Casketbearers will be his grandsons.
