Johnie Burton, Jr., age 69, of Lawrenceburg, died Friday, February 26, 2016 at his residence.

He was born in Anderson County to the late Johnie Cecil Burton, Sr. and Roberta Bernice Sayre Burton. He was a member at First Baptist Church and was a truck driver for Ellis Wrecker Service.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet McIntyre Burton, Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Amy Elizabeth (Carl) McRoberts, April (John) Frye, both of Frankfort; one brother, James Wayne (Debbie) Burton, Stanford; one sister, Donna (Charles) Swinford, Cynthiana; and five grandchildren, Hannah Frye, Della Grace Frye, Tanner McRoberts, Kristin McRoberts, and Stephanie McRoberts.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-1 p.m. Tuesday before the service.

Casketbearers will be John Frye, Carl McRoberts, James Wayne Burton, Wayne Young, Jim Rude, and Donald Ray Ellis, Jr. Honorary bearers will be Tanner McRoberts and Cleon McIntyre.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
