Jackie Eugene Smith

Jackie Eugene Smith, 76, of Lawrenceburg, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Harrodsburg.

He was born in Lexington, KY to the late Melvin and Elizabeth Reed Smith. He was a member of Broadway Church in Lexington; member of the KY Colonels and retired after 42 years of dry walling.

He is survived by his loyal friend, Kathryn Whitehead Smith; son, Jackie Dwayne (Angela) Smith; daughter, LaDana (Larry) Daily; step-son, Joshua Renner; brother, Tommy (Brenda) Smith; sister, Angelia (Ronald) Smith; four grandchildren, Amanda (Donnie) Fuller, Jessica (C.T.) Powell, Anna and Ava Smith, all of Lawrenceburg; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his first wife, Annette "Cookie" Stratton Smith; sister, Judy Thomas; and nephew, Melvin David Smith.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. George Dye officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Casket bearers will be Wayne Aldridge, Charles Thomas Powell, Ron Smith, Chris Whitaker, Wayne Whitaker and Bobby Whitaker. Serving as honorary bearers will be the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
