Ida Lou Smith Hooper, 92, of Lawrenceburg, widow of William Owen Fountain Hooper, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Mercer County to the late Amos Milton and Susie Humes Smith. She was a member at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and spent her days as a homemaker.

Ms. Hooper is survived by four children, Betty H. (Doug) West, of Owenton, Wanda Sue Hooper, Bobby (Jennifer) Hooper, and Jimmy (Michelle) Hooper, all of Lawrenceburg; sister, Nellie Fathergill; brother, Harvey Smith; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Clark; two sons, Johnny and Billy Hooper; grandson, James Hooper; one brother; and five sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mark Speakman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday.

Casket bearers will be Brent Steele, Terry Steele, Brandon Hooper, Jim Chilton, Isaiah Hooper, and Jacob Hooper.
