Gary Hogue, who astonished all of his medical providers by living to the ripe old age of 78, completed his life on earth on Saturday, August 30, 2025. He and his wife, Amy, were great partners. With laughter, love and great faith they weathered every storm that came their way. The unique love they shared is a bond that will last forever. His daughters, Jennifer and Emily were the lights of his life. Jennifer and Anthony Powers of Corinth, KY gave him Gracie, Gavin and Noah. Emily and Justin Sowards of Barboursville, WV brought Adeline into his life. He adored all of his grandchildren. Gary leaves to his memory Amy, Jen and Ems, their families, his 5 siblings and their spouses, Danny and Connie Hogue, Wilmore, KY, Betty and James Staton, Nicholasville, KY, Roger and Leigh Ann Hogue, Wilmore, KY, David and Nancy Hogue, Wilmore, KY, and Jody and Chuck Brock, Wilmore, KY. Also, oodles of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Those who will be first to greet him in heaven will be his parents, Hack and Faye Hogue (Rainwater), his granddaughter, Grace Powers, and his in-laws Carol Hamilton, Phil Hamilton, Steve Hamilton and Cheryl Hamilton. Gary worked at Square D and was a Firefighter/Paramedic for the city of Lexington, KY. He was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Nicholasville, KY where he taught 3 and 4 year old Sunday School for years alongside Amy. A Celebration of his incredible life will be held at Bethel Christian Church, 1991 Phillips Road, Nicholasville, KY on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 3:00 PM Visitation will be from 1:00 PM unit time of service at the church. Brother Bill Bales will be officiating. Gary asked that everyone please sign up to be an organ donor. His donated kidney gave him an extra 31 years of life. Praise God!
