Garvis Nowlin Birdwhistell, Jr.

Garvis Nowlin Birdwhistell, Jr., age 64, of Frankfort, died Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Lawrenceburg, KY to the late Garvis Nowlin and Virginia Rhea Jeffries Birdwhistell. He was a 1970 graduate of Western High School; softball umpire for Capital View Park; volunteer for the Frankfort Humane Society; and served with the Military Police in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by a daughter, Krystal Birdwhistell, Frankfort; two sons, Christopher Birdwhistell, Frankfort and Trevor (Sharon) Birdwhistell, Florida; sister, Wanda (Billy) Jordan, Grafenburg; brother, Bobby (Betty) Montgomery, Lawrenceburg; and step-mother, Nancy Birdwhistell, Lawrenceburg; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ilene Birdwhistell Peyton.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Karsner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation 11-1 Thursday.
Casketbearers will be Christopher Birdwhistell, Trevor Birdwhistell, Timmy Perkins, Caleb Montgomery, Billy Jordan and Michael Jordan.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Franklin County Humane Society, 1041 Kentucky Avenue, Frankfort, KY 40601.
