Emma Jean Stinnett Stevens, 87, of Van Buren, widow of Edward Burton Stevens, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at her residence.
She was born in Nelson County to the late Forrest Truman and Mae Sweasy Stinnett. She spent her days as a homemaker and was a member at Van Buren Church of Christ.
Mrs. Stevens is survived by six sons, Larry (Kathy) Stevens, Lawrenceburg; Eddie (Kitty) Stevens, Mt. Eden, Rickey Stevens, Waddy, Forrest (Tina) Stevens, Ronnie (Kathy) Stevens, and Brent (Sherry) Stevens, all of Lawrenceburg; sisters, Helen Stevens, Lawrenceburg, Shirley (Melvin) Hume, Karen (Jim) Ferency, both of Taylorsville, Betty (Larry) Goodlett, Mt. Eden; two brothers, Truman Dean (Karen) Stinnett and Keith (Beverly) Stinnett, both of Taylorsville; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and special caregiver, Patsy White, Mt. Eden.
Along with her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Kay Stevens Thor.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Matt Ashby and Kent Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be form 3-8 p.m. Monday.
Casket bearers will be Jason Thor, Alex Thor, Brook Drury, Brittany Toll, Justin Stevens, Aaron Stevens, Alea Haydon, Bernie Stevens, Adam Stevens, Misty Hupp, Lindsay Raterman, Matt Stevens, Lucas Stevens, Logan Stevens, and Brennan Stevens. Honorary bearers will be David Sparrow, Wilmond Ashby, Daril Ulery, Donnie Moore, Arvil McClain, Dr. Jerry Phelps, and Ralph Boyd.
