Elsie Lee Hyatt Corn, age 97, widow of Ottis Harold Corn, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Anderson County to the late Jess and Nell Redman Hyatt. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she formerly taught 3rd grade Sunday School for many years, Director of the Nursery, and Children's Choir for 2-3 year olds; a 1936 graduate of Kavanaugh High School; 1996 Citizen of the Year for the Anderson Co. Chamber of Commerce; and retired from the KY State Government where she worked in the Department of Revenue.
Mrs. Corn is survived by her son, Pete Mayewski, Jr.; brother, William W. (Virginia) Hyatt; sister-in-law, June Hyatt; best friend, Alice Fallis, all of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert F. Ehr and Bro. Jeff Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Gash Memorial Chapel and 11-1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church.
