Edwin Boswell "Eddie" Hanks Jr

Edwin Boswell "Eddie" Hanks, Jr., age 66, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at UK Medical Center.

He was born in Lexington, KY to the late Edwin Boswell Hanks, Sr. and Frances Stone Hanks. He was a member at Sand Spring Baptist Church; retired after 37 years from Osram Sylvania; a farmer; and worked for CDE Construction Company.

Mr. Hanks is survived by his wife, Judy Cubert Sutherland Hanks; three sons, Eddie Hanks and Stacie Rosenthal, Chris (Melissa) Hanks, Jeremy Hanks, all of Lawrenceburg; two step-children, Chris (Karen) Sutherland, of Lawrenceburg and Kimberly Sutherland, of Lexington; two sisters, Beverly (Allen) Sparrow and Anita (Frank) Batten; one brother, Danny (Janet) Hanks; three grandchildren, Hunter Hanks, Jon Jackson Hanks; and nine step-grandchildren Neal Wells, Tyler Hembree, Chase Sutherland, Alex Sutherland, Blake Sutherland, Luke Mann, Logan Mann, Hanna and Sara Rosenthal, all of Lawrenceburg.

Mr. Hanks is preceded in death by his first wife Della Mae Billips Hanks.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Casketbearers will be Hunter Hanks, Jason and Chad Sparrow, Michael Mitchum, Chris Sutherland, and Rodney Clark. Honorary bearers will be Tyler Hembree, Neal Wells, Todd Hill, James Tinsley, Bobby Cubert, Tom Chapman, Glen Gritton, Connie Drury, Blake Sutherland, Wayne Richards, Dave Disponett, Ray Perry, John Henry Disponett, and Kenneth Gill.
