Delbert Owen Cox, Jr.

Delbert Owen Cox, Jr., age 80, of Lawrenceburg, husband of 59 years to Joyce Aldridge Cox, died Monday, February 13, 2017 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Versailles, KY to the late Delbert Owen and Dorothy Gill Howard Cox, Sr.  He was a 1955 graduate of Anderson High School; member of Alton Baptist Church; retired from Rand McNally after 39 years of service; and a member of the Alton Ruritan Club.

Including his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathy Lee Rucker, Upton, KY; two sons, Delbert Owen (Vickie) Cox III, Versailles, and Patrick Howard (Susan) Cox, Lawrenceburg; sister, Lois Tinsley, Lawrenceburg; brother, Robert Kenneth Cox, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Amiee and Lorrie Rucker, Richard Owen Cox, Brittany (Adam) Sholar, Destinie Michelle Cox, Shawn Patrick (Amber) Cox, and Matthew Thomas (Katelyn) Cox; and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Cox; and great-granddaughter, Aiven Elicia Cox.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday, and starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
