Darnell Pleasant, Jr.

Darnell Pleasant, Jr., 54, of Versailles, died Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at his residence.

Darnell was born in Versailles, KY to Mr. Darnell Pleasant, Sr., of Lawrenceburg, and the late Floranna Penny McKee.  He was a 1985 graduate of Anderson County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University where he played football.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Versailles.

He is survived by his fiancé, Jennie Davis; son, Andre Davis; two grandchildren, Tyson and Ryder Davis, all of Versailles; brothers, Charles S. McKee, Lawrenceburg, Darnell Ronald Pleasant, Southville, Ollie (Cheryl) Pleasant, Louisville, and Steven Pleasant, of California; sisters, Vanessa McKee, Lexington, Charlene (Darrell) Harvey and Georgetta Pleasant, both of Lawrenceburg, Barbara Ann Pleasant and Steffney (Harold) White, both of Louisville; aunt, Mayme Penny; sister-in-law, Marla Smith; great-nephew, Carter Michael Terrell; and very special person, Helen Murphy, all of Lawrenceburg; mother-in-law, Mrs. Katie B. Davis, Versailles; several nieces and nephews, and a host of loving family.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William "Skeeter" Smith.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Rev. Floyd Greene and Rev. Joe Marshall officiating.  Cremation will follow.  Visitation will be 11-1 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

To abide by the regulations set forth by the State of Kentucky, all persons attending a visitation or funeral will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.  Fifty (50%) occupancy of the funeral home will be in practice.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding
