Charles Morgan Flora Sr., 91 passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the VA Medical Center Cottages in Lexington, KY. where he was lovingly cared for by wonderful doctors, nurses and staff.
Charles aka (Morgan, Charley, Daddy Charles & Papaw) was born May 2, 1933 in Woodford County to the late Samuel D. Flora and Mary Elizabeth Manley Flora.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron L. Flora and siblings Aruther Flora, William (Bill) Flora, Betty Flora & Bessie Flora Fint.
Charles grew up in Woodford County where he worked with his family farming at young age. He very proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He also served in the Kentucky National Guard. After the Army he made a career in the trucking industry and eventually became the proud Owner/Operator of Flora Brothers Trucking Company. He was extremely proud to be a Veteran.
A current member of the American Legion Post #8, he also served as a Shriner, a Mason of Paris Lodge 2, and the Scottish Right. A member of Bedford Acres Christian Church in Paris, Ky.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Charles M. "Buddy" (Linda) Flora Jr., Jerry (Becky) Flora, Trina Flora (Jerry) Turner, Jr., Kevin (Angela) Flora. 14 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grand Children and one Great Great Grandchild. Siblings Donald Flora (Beulah), Lyndsey Flora (Peggy), Sammy Flora (Debbie) Flora, Lilly Caldwell
Pallbearers: Dalton Flora, Greg Flora, Jacob Flora, Evan Turner, Alex Jefferies, Wesley Long.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jason Flora, Daniel Flora, Richard Waggoner & Tony Reffitt
Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Noon & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service.
Burial will follow the service at Rose Crest Cemetery in Versailles with full Military Honors.
