Charles Edward "Charlie" Overstreet, 79, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, at his home in Lawrenceburg. He was born on August 22, 1945, in Salvisa Kentucky, to the late Raymond Overstreet and Dora Adams Overstreet.
He was a proud resident of Lawrenceburg and was a 1968 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He married Barbara Whittington on October 14, 1990. He worked 25 years for Island Creek Coal Company and 15 years for the State of Kentucky as an Accountant. Charlie was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was a member of Claylick United Methodist Church and attended Craig Chapel AME church. He was a member of the Salvisa Ruritan Club for over 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with friends at the Anderson County Senior Citizen Center. He loved bowling, yard sales, spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. Charlie was an avid UK fan.
Along with his parents Charlie was preceded in death by Judy Overstreet, his daughters, Kimberly Mikez-Petro, Kelly Bates, and Karyn Eades.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Whittington Overstreet; three daughters, Nancy (Tom) Angell, Marydale (Tim) Coleman, and Abby Sutherland; two older sisters, Frances Brock and Rayma Norvell, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers: Bryce Bates, Joshua Eades, Jacob Petro, Kyle Sutherland, Matthew Wall, and Austin Watts.
Honorary Pallbearers: Karsyn Bates, Kamryn Brinegar, Jason Eades, Jordyn Eades, Adiel Mattingly, Joseph Mikez, Arielle Reopelle, Kelsey Watts, and Autumn Wall.
Pastor Sherry Green will be officiating the service.
Funeral service will be held 2:30pm Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Noon & Son Funeral Home
Visitation will be from 12Noon until time of service.
Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery
