Carolyn Jean (York) Wayne

Carolyn Jean York Wayne, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Anderson County to the late Lois Henry and Ann Elizabeth Trent York.  She was a 1955 graduate of Anderson County High School; member of Sand Spring Baptist Church; retired after 27 years as a Deputy Clerk from the Anderson County Clerk's Office; and was a self taught artist.

Mrs. Wayne is survived by her husband of 32 years, Carroll Johnson Wayne; daughter, Shanon Goodlett, both of Lawrenceburg; three sons, Mark (Margaret) Shelburne, Elfrida, AZ, Jeff Wayne, Lawrenceburg, and Andy Wayne, Old Fort, N.C.; 5 sisters, Wanda (Bob) Roquemore, Linda (R.V.) Keeling, Lois Ann (Barney) Denny, Mary Jane (Gary) Gaines, and Jackie (Gary) Shrout, all of Lawrenceburg; 9 grandchildren, Logan Shelburne, Leslie (Justin) Decker, Lauren (Jeff) King, Allie and Ethan Goodlett, Bianca (Mikey) Underwood, Randi (David) Smith, and Chance and Caleb Wayne; 7 great-grandchildren; special friend, Rosalie Yocum; and caregivers, Mary Scott, Sarah Hilbert, Amy Cunningham, and Betty Brown.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jim Wheeler officiating.  Cremation was chosen and burial will follow at a later date in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday and prior to services on Tuesday.
