Carolyn Mae Alsman Hume, age 88, of Lawrenceburg, widow of James Gilbert Hume died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Lexington, KY to the late Furman and Ruby Jane Phillips Alsman. She was a 1945 graduate of Kavanaugh High School; member at Sand Spring Baptist Church; former co-owner of Monroe's Slaughter House and Anderson Frozen Foods; and a member of the Eastern Star Hamilton Chapter #293.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah J. Maddox, Susan D. (Kerry) Faulkner, both of Lawrenceburg, and Elaine (Roger) Schumann of Crossville,TN; a niece Lorie Alsman, of Florida; best friend, Graci; five grandchildren, Lindsey H. Maddox, Kaleb Faulkner, both of Lawrenceburg, Shannon Faulkner, Shelbyville, Carrie Wick, Alaska, Nick Schumann, TN; two step-granddaughters Mindy Bell, Monticello, and Wendy Southworth, Harrodsburg; eight great-grandchildren; and some nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Alsman and Kenny Monroe.

There will be a private service at Lawrenceburg Cemetery with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating. A private burial will follow.
