Betty Jean Thompson Hainline, age 77, wife of 33 years to William C. Hainline, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, December 17, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Hainline was born in Dyersburg, TN on March 27, 1939 to the late Meredith Cook and Hazel Virginia Daniels Thompson. She attended Sand Spring Baptist Church. Mrs. Hainline and her husband were retired truck drivers from R&L Carriers. Betty Jean was the proud recipient of a 1,000,000 mile safe driving award at R&L, and since her retirement has been volunteering with her husband at the American Red Cross.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Pamela Jean (Ward) Bogert, Atlanta, GA, Virginia Lee (Jonathon) Carver, Mena, AR, Dianna Lynne (James) Austien, Jackson, TN, and Connie Elaine (Vernon) Blankenship, Kalona, IA; and a son, William Andrew Hainline, New Albany, IN. Betty Jean had 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wall, and sister, Sandra Denise Harbour.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make a contribution to the American Red Cross in Betty Jean's name.
