Betty Ann (Nash) Denney

Betty Ann Nash Denney, 91, widow of Bro. Tyre Denney, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Signature Healthcare Center of Georgetown.

She was born in College Park, GA to the late Howard and Thelma Smith Nash. She was a member at Alton Baptist Church where she worked as the secretary; she also worked for the County Clerks office in Birmingham, AL; taught Sunday School for 45 years; raised 6 wonderful kids and several grandkids.

Mrs. Denney is survived by her children, Jennifer (Mike) Gay, Lawrenceburg, Jana (Joey) Thomas, Georgetown, Lt. Col. Ret. James T. (Sally Jo) Denney, Jr., Huntsville, AL, Jeff (Jennifer) Denney, Waddy; Joel (Tracey) Denney, Lancaster, SC, and Jody (Kim Wilkins) Denney, of Lawrenceburg; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Along with her spouse and parents she was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mickey Hyder officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Casket bearers will be Garrick Gay, James Tyre Denney III, Allen Thomas, Jordan Denney, John Denney and Jared Denney.
